Chickens are dying.

I started out with nine hens but five were eaten by dogs and three drowned before we built the coop. Only one hen remains. I'm trying to get two more hens for it to not be lonely. Does anyone know if it is possible to get a watch dog to protect them ? And where to locate stores that sells hens in the Baton Rouge area? Thanks.

i tie my dog up right next to the coop... never had a problem with him hurting the chickens or anything getting in ...

It's not my dog. Some random one comes in from the neighborhood. So is it possible for me to buy a dog that will guard the chickens and follow them?

mine does , but i never had any problems with other dogs, but wild animals were bad be for i kept my dog out by them.
