[IMG] Generally crows are too smart and aggressive to allow chickens to attack them. Perhaps the crow was sick? If this were to happen here, I would suspect West Nile virus.

i did save the crow from what looked like might be certain death and when i released it it flew away as far as i know there are no such viruses here in Ireland
could they have been just over protective of there run??

May have been just a dumb crow that made a bad mistake. Chickens do tend to protect their 'territory'.

The chickens should be grateful to crows, as crows chase and harass hawks and owls( if it's out in the day, or the crows find it's roost).
