We have a small flock of 5 chickens all of which are various breeds. They are all free range and have several different coops that they can go to at night. However we have a problem with the Rooster and a hen both attacking one of the other hens.
The first time this happened the hen ended up with all the feathers at the top of her neck gone and a large open wound down the majority of the back of her neck. We separated them until it healed.
Since them both of them have still attacked her and have taken the tip of her beak off, numerous wounds on her comb, an eye injury and still on the top of the head.
They don't do this to the other hens just this one. Any ideas on why they could be doing this or prevention tips?IMG]https://www.backyardchickens.com/content/type/61/id/6057261/width/200/height/400[/IMG][IMG]
The neck over a year later. Most of the feathers have grown back and what hasn't is where the open wound was -_-
    Any ideas guys?
    Thanks.
