If my ladies were to plant a garden this spring, what would they plant ?
Lettuce, spinach, chard, kale, radish greens, cabbage, broccoli and cauliflower (for the leaves mainly).
Mine picked my Kale clean and nearly eradicated my strawberries-fruit and leaves- the DAY they discovered the garden (its tucked away in a corner that they had previously not noticed)
I let mine into my vegie garden this week. They're loving the pea plants (eat the leaves, passed on the pea pod I missed). The chard is now but a memory.
In addition to the above sunflowers, squash, pumpkins, broom corn, buckwheat, millet and oats.
Alfalfa. At least I hope they would, because that's what I'm planting for them.
Add tomatoes to the list, fought them all summer. Won some, lost some
They LOVE kale!
Don't forget the watermelon!
