I have 11 hens in which 7 of them have very full crops. I am worried because they've had it for about a week and from what I've read, it supposed to go down every now and then, but it hasn't. Also, my other hen recently died and she was acting fine and had the same size crop and the next day she had passed on to heaven. They have been getting a lot more veggies, fruit, and rice scraps and not enough real hen pellets and scratch. They have been eating, drinking, running around, and laying fine. They're poop looks normal and they are not lethargic. What should i do?
Thanks,

Welcome to BYC!

Their crops should empty every night, period. Might be a good time to try feeding nothing but pellets or crumbles and see if that helps.

Good news! My chickens crops went down this morning after they ate a full meal (no scraps- just pellets and scratch)! Still I would appreciate any advice for next time that it, hopefully wont, happens
