It really doesn't bother me to feed my chickens leftover chicken. Except when I see a few bones scattered around the run and do a quick head count and come up short! This morning I saw a couple of leftover bones sitting on the ground. I can't remember the last time they got chicken on the bone, probably about a month ago now. I suddenly got real paranoid and did a quick head count. Oh no! Where's Buffy? She has been pretty thin lately, could the heat have done her in? Nope, there she is "hiding" behind the bale of straw. Phew! If it hadn't been barely 5am after a late night and no a/c living in the "heat dome" I probably would have realized before wondering where that one chicken went that those bones were way too clean to be anything recent.
