Hi, I am in the very early stages of getting set up for raising chickens for eggs. I am reading all that I can and am watching YouTube videos on it every day.
I would very much appreciate any information on getting started by any other chicken breeder out there.
I am very glad and appreciative to be here. I look forward to any advice I can get.

if your looking for a breed I’d recommend bantams. They are small, friendly, and will go broody/ hatch raise chicks for you. They also lay pretty well. They’re very easy to care for.

Personally, I think orphingtons are a great option. They’re friendly, lay pretty well, and are adorable. I also would recommend bantams.

Hello, and welcome to BYC. Do you have any specific questions?
Things to know:
1.SR means straight run and that means you may get some or all males. Pullets means they are sexed at hatch and while you may get an accidental male, you are likely to get all females.
2. Ventilation in your coop is a litteral lifesaver. You need 1square ft of always open Ventilation for every chicken.
