You know it's cold when . . . your chickens Ice up!
We are in the middle of some serious freezing rain. The snow in the yard just thawed enough a few days ago that the girls could go out into the main yard. But when I went out later I noticed what looked like water on their feathers, but it turned out to be ice!
Fortunately our coop is heated to about 43F, but I had no idea this could happen!
