    Hi, I am a newbie!
Still Learning how to use this sight.
I am in Atlanta Illinois where they currently
Have a no farm animal ordinance. I called
AND JUST AS I THOUGHT NO CHICKENS.
I am planning to try to change this, so if
Anyone around here has tried or knows
How to accomplish this any insight appreciated.
I am wanting Cochins and silkies[IMG]
    Thanks for reading my thread

G’Day from down under Tmorse [IMG] Welcome!

I wish you luck with your attempt to change the ordinance. I have no experience with this personally but I do know there is a BYC Forum dedicated to that subject which may be helpful:

    https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/37/local-chicken-laws-ordinances-and-how-to-change-them

I hope you enjoy BYC. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun. Unlike non chicken loving friends, family and colleagues, BYC’ers never tire of stories or pictures that feature our feathered and non feathered friends [IMG]

Greetings from Kansas, Tmorse, and :welcome! Great to have you aboard! Hope you are able to convince the powers that be to change your ordinance! You might also ask fellow Illinois chicken keepers for their advice on the matter. Find the IL thread in the link below and say howdy.

Very nice to meet you Tina. I didn't even know there was an "Atlanta," Illinois. Given that, I am surprised they are reluctant to allow chickens.[IMG]
