Hi all, How many chickens do you recommend putting in a 10X8' coop to keep them healthy? The run that is going with the coop is 15X80.

    Thanks

The general rule of thumb is 4 sq. ft. per standard bird. Twice that for their run.
You can get away with less space if you allow free-ranging.

Your coop is big enough for 20 standard chickens - your run is big enough for 120 chickens.

You have such a large chicken run - if you want more than 20 chickens you can add another coop to the other end of your run or put it inside the run.

    Personally I wouldn't get more than those 14. 20 sounds like a lot, if they're not free-ranging.

You're 14 chickens will love their new place and I would also consider them to be free-range chickens since they'll be living in a HUGE 1200 sf run.
