Chickens pecking at feet?

Could this be other chickens pecking at a wound? Or is the brown poop or something else?

I suggest you soak the foot in warm, soapy water, take a soft fingernail brush to it and remove the brown crust, and see what the tissue looks like under it.

Then, if you see an abrasion, apply some Blue-kote or Blue Lotion on all the damaged spots, and you will have camouflaged the wounds as well as treated them.
