We got three chickens in July. One was almost a year old and already laying eggs before she moved here. The other two were four months old and hadn't started just yet. Mind you, this was in July and we still haven't seen one egg! I added a light, and added a big chicken run so they have the chance to move around quite a bit. We also let them roam in the yard about every other day for a few hours. I've searched the yard thinking that they might have picked a hiding spot to lay the but absolutely nothing! What the heck could be going on?

Did the older one quit laying?

It could be lots of things. Daylength, nutrition, disease, stress.

The oldest one hasn't laid one egg since she's been here but she was already laying eggs at her previous home. I totally understood that she would take a little bit of time off to adjust but this is bazaar. They have light to extend their exposure and a heat lamp for chilly nights. I just really don't get it.
