New member in St. Louis, MO. My original plan was to have 2 older hens (probably stolen from my mother's flock) since we don't eat a lot of eggs and I primarily wanted chicken manure for my compost. Somehow, I ended up with 4 pullets--a Black Australorp, a Buff Orpington, a Black Sex Link and a Cinnamon Queen--so, i'm thinking we'll be awash in eggs and manure before very much longer. Well, we're already awash in chicken manure, I hope the eggs aren't far behind. Are there any other BYC members in St. Louis City?

  2. The manure is great for the garden and you'll find all kinds of "friends" that will take your excess eggs. Best of luck and welcome to this forum! [IMG]
