So I have one of those small crappy doghouse sized coops from ebay...its temporary until I get my coop finished. There are three pullets that share it. They free range and never go inside except to roost. The coop has to wooden bars and little spaces to insert the bars. The moment the chickens roost on them they fall off. So they have been roosting in the nest boxes. Well, I had a great idea and nailed the two bars together like a T and they now have one roost that works. I put tin pans with shavings that fit perfectly in the spot for the nest boxes. Now they won't go in it. They slept last night behind the roost on the ground. What is wrong? What did I do wrong? is it the tin pans? will the noise scare them? is it the fact they don't really know where to roost now? help!
