In the Brooder
Hi All,
Sorry about the title, lol. Fairly new to raising chickens. Hatched our first ones right after Christmas. Started with eggs from a friend of a friend and hatched 4 Silkies. 3 ended up being roos and we had to give them away. Kids were bummed, so we bought 4 straight run Dominiques in April (still not sure which are hens or roos), then a week later got 2 Rhode Island Reds and 2 Leghorns (hens for sure). The one remaining Silkie was my daughters favorite, but about a week ago our dog thought it was a stuffed animal and tried to play with it
(lesson learned). Hoping to get another Silkie or two, but hard to find bearded hens without breaking the bank, lol.
Anyway, I hope to learn a lot from everyone on here.
