I have 2 buff orpington chicks about 4 weeks and a polish and silkie little over a week old...i have 2 issues, one of my buffs i noticed today when i let them out in the yard wasn't scratching and pecking around much..she would flop over in the sun to sunbathe for afew seconds which is so cute(first time i ever seen them do this) but would stand around dozing off most the time.I have noticed her not being very interested when i let them out and i catch her just standing with her tail lowered. Also my 2 little ones i added at first were pecked a little by the 2 older buffs but now they will snuggle the polish and my little silkie is always off by herself...any ideas on either? I'm a new chicken owner, just learning any advice is appreciated

Also have noticed that huddling in the corner together is even in the day time when it's warm

They like to snooze together.................just about everything eats chicken, so there is safety in numbers. And sunbathing is normal on a mildly warm day. When it gets too hot, they will retreat to the shade. Nothing to worry about.

As for the Polish, if she's your only Polish, she stands out as the "odd" one. It will take a bit longer for her to fit in.
