chicks and cold weather

our young chickens have their feathers. are they okay outside in 28-30 degree weather overnight? we live in Austin Texas so it does not stay freezing. they are 8 weeks old.

Well I live in Houston Tx so i'm not to far away from you! Our full sized chickens have been doing fine except for a few bad molts.... Make sure that their coop is wind proof that will help take out a lot of the chill.... Now you can buy a heat lamp from tractor supply which are relatively easy to find around here.....but at 8 weeks they should be fine...but to wind proof their pen you could just use some cheap tarps from Wal-mart
and put them where the wind comes in the most. Hope this helps!
