For those of you who live in or near Westminster, MD Bowman's has their chicks. All of their chicks are pullets too. Good time to get some chicks. If you want to know when a certain breed will be in, let me know. I have the list of breeds and dates they will be in. Right now they have Rhode Island Reds, New Hampshire Reds, Barred Plymouth Rock, Easter Eggers, Red Cross and one other breed I can't remember.

Hi and welcome to BYC!

Good to have you here. Some organizations which cover your area below. Be bold, ask who has the winningest strain. Look for judges and experts in the breed and call or email them. Poultry people are so helpful.

Buy the best. It costs just the same to feed either hatchery or top quality birds. Plus the better birds are prettier. This time of year, lots of chicks available.

Even started birds. Some of these websites may even have breed directories where you can get names.

This is just a general directory. No info on the quality of the birds offered.

Especially ask the old timers. They know the vintage strains, a fount of information. They can tell you about hardiness, which strain lays earliest. Which strains are closest to the real thing.

Here's the national Club. Email Brett and ask him who has goodun's in MD.
