I posted about a week and a half ago about a chick we received that had its umbilical cord wrapped around one leg. It would have lost the leg. My husband cut ithe umbilical cord off and we started taking care of it just in time.

The chick hopped one one leg and dragged the hurt leg. We started the massage the leg and tethered the legs together, like the treatment for splayed legs.

As of today, the injured leg seems stronger and her chick is trying to use it. I am pleased with the progress. The issue is that the leg that seemed strong now seems to hyperextends, one I took the band aid off (tether). I am concerned at his, because I don't remember seeing this before. I am wondering if I did something wrong / if tethering them together caused this. I can see that this "good" leg seems weak.

For now, I have tethered the legs back together. I am looking for advice from someone who has had a similar experience.

    Thank you.
