So I now have two hatched lavender laced cochins, I'm not sure if they will be Bantam or not? Mom was pure lavendar laced cohin dad was a white bantam cochin and the chicks are lavendar.
I lost the cuckoo Maran :(
How can I tell if they are hens or roosters? And tips? My kids have already named them lucky and cutie. I am not able to have a Rooster in city limits but if it ends up bring a rooster and is quite my be I can get away with it? I highly doubt it will be quite lol
I was too nervous to check the vent in the first 24 hours I didn't want to hurt them and I read that it can hurt them if you don't know what your doing.
I'll post pics soon. They both are rambunctious and spunky lol more so then my faverolle chickens

I kind of have a feeling I have one male and one female due to behavior of chick charges at my hand and scratches the ground as if it's holding stance lol but I tried looking at the feather wings and I just can't see it i will just ha email to wait till they are around 6 weeks for combs and feathering

Scratching the ground is them just.. Scratching.. All chicks do that. Lol. And I might be wrong, but my chicks always run/charge at me, and my adult birds, because they think I have food and they want attention. xD
