My Dutch bantam chicks moved outside to their halfway house a week ago now and are coming up to 8 weeks old.
However, they still spend nearly all their time hiding in the darkest corner unless I am out there with them.
As soon as I sit with them they scurry out and start feeding and scratching, then when I go out of sight they scurry back into their corner again. Is this usual? When will they settle down? [IMG]

They will get braver. It is a big new place out there it will take some time.

Your there mommy and and they are used to you and need you and want you. You are their world and there everything. Trick them with treats and condition them to come to you with goodies they like! Go out every day at the same time and warn them by shaking the treat or ringing a bike bell like I do and they will come running. [IMG]
