Just finished my new coop & run. Are chicks available now or is it best to wait until next spring? I live in Ellensburg and willing to drive to pick up chicks. Don't want to do the mail order thing. Appreciate advice :)

One good thing about starting a flock of chicks now is that come late winter/early spring you will get loads of eggs. Timing is good right now.

If I had just built a new coop I couldn't resist getting chicks.

Hold out for the ones you want because likely you will get them later anyway.
