I have ordered 12 golden buffs and the will arrive March 30 and I have chickens but I got them when they were 6 months old so I know how to care for them but I've never had 1 day old chicks. Can you please list things I will need to raise them I know a couple

Welcome to BYC! Glad you joined the flock! Get medicated chick feed.

Make sure you have a large brooder for them, with wire over the top to keep pets and kids out and little chicks inside. The start flying early and can fall out or fly out and not be able to get back inside for the warmth of a heat lamp. Have a shallow dish for their water and put clean marbles or glass pebbles in there, to help prevent drowning . Baby chicks lose their balance easily and can fall in and not be able to back out. Also check them often for pasty butt, and clean as often as necessary.

Hello!

Welcome to BYC and the coop! There's a lot of great peeps here! Feel free to ask lots of questions. But most of all, make yourself at home. I'm so glad you decided to join the BYC family. I look forward to seeing you around BYC.

Hi and welcome to BYC. Good luck with your new checks - you will have a busy but enjoyable time with them i am sure.

All the best

You've been given some good advice and links so all I can add is take plenty of pictures! I really wish I had taken more, they grow so fast.

Have fun with the little ones!
