Chicks Poo soiled in their b*tthole..........

some off my 5 days old chicks are having this problem...their poo soiled in their butt and its hard to remove it... i am worried they poo will stucked inside thier anus if they will not be able to take them out...


what is the best thing to do?

It can happen in the first week. It is called pasteing up. We get warm water and a wash cloth. You have to hold them and soak the vent (b*tthole) so that the poo softens then gently wipe it so that it comes off. The chicks hate it and will fight you, but if you don't get it clean, they will be blocked up and can't poop and will die.

Its called pasting up and happens to chicks often you should take it out before it drys but if it dries out some warm water to moisturize it. Then gently pull it out. If you dont they will die but be sure not to pull their umbrellical cord or it could hurt them very badly
