So this is actually about three of my chicks that are 2 weeks & 3 weeks old, but occurred when they hatched. I'm planning on incubating eggs again very soon so I'd like to know if this meant anything.

I hatched 7 Phoenix chicks 3 weeks ago and a d'anver chick 2 weeks ago. The d'anver and two of the phoenixes had patches of down that just wouldn't dry off the first two days. It was like it had dried hard and sticking to their skin.

The chicks were ultimately fine but this worried me a bit.

Was this a minor case of 'sticky chick'? What can I do to prevent this in the future- if this is something that could be a problem? Also what caused it?
