    Well two things...

I think onlookers should keep their traps our of child disciplining except in abuse cases. slapping a 13 month old in the face...is abuse. Had she smacked the child's leg and said "Stop kicking people", I would be all for the mother's side. However, slapped a baby in the face is uncalled for.

On what planet does inflicting pain on a 13-month-old cause her to stop crying? Tired, cranky kids are irritation personified, but an out-of-control toddler is not going to stop crying if you start hitting her, or yelling at her. This lady is in serious need of lessons in parenting!

Quote:I agree entirely... I have a 10 month old and would never dream of slapping her in the face! A little smack on the leg would be appropriate... and not for crying! Babies cry! and I have to say, I don't believe the dog bite story for a second. "Yay" for the flight attendant that stepped in, and "Boo" to the authorities that didn't check further into this family and gave the child back without a second glance... I'll be praying for that baby!
