Chipped Beak!! ahhh!

    Will you guys help? I have a Buff orpington that is socialy challenged. She stays in the coop and i force her out then she just sits there ON the coop and if you put her some where se will sit down! UGH. This morning i REALIZED she had a CHIPPED BEAK! What do i do?

    How bad is the chip? Could you post a photo? A minor chip in front (resulting in a jagged appearance) isn't too much to worry about--it happens to chickens all the time. In minor cases like that, you can use a human nail trimmer to trim the beak and make it smoother, or you can file it down.

    If the chip/crack is further up the beak, that is a bigger problem.

    One of my chickens (BR) chipped the front of her top beak off. It grew back.

    I'll wait for the picture.My birds occasionally chip their beaks, but never badly, and it always grows back.
