When they chirp but haven't piped yet, how loud is it? Sometimes I think I hear a really faint chirp but don't know if its coming from outside or from within the eggs.

Is it obvious its a chicken egg chirping or does it seem like your imagination?

Yup, you're probably hearing chirping. It's very quiet at first. I always wonder if I'm just hearing birds outside. It seems so unreal. But yeah, probably chirping. Congrats. [IMG]

Yup, faint chirps during internal pip and when they pip through the shell it gets louder (for the noisy ones). Some don't make any noise and just hatch and then start screaming. lol

when you hear it at night then you know it's not from outside.....it seems to help the eggs hatch too when the other babies hear it they get with pipping and zipping
