Chocolate Orpington roo over Buff hen????

We want to start producing our own chicks to expand our flock and out of the many breeds we have we love our Orpingtons the most!

I recently had the opportunity to buy a rooster I have admired since he hatched! Yes a gorgeous chocolate Orpington and I am just wondering what kind of colours the chicks could have???

I believe Chocolate Orpingtons are sex-linked chocolate as opposed to dun. Pullets from this cross will be chocolate with buff leakage, cockerels will be black with buff leakage.

Nothing better than a great rooster, except maybe a flock of Orpingtons. I love the breed. That is an awesome cross.

Would create sexlinked chicks. Males being black. Females being chocolate.

Chocolate dilutes black, not buff. And your hen looks to be a mix, which further complicates matters.
