chook or roo? light sussex. HELP MEE!!!

    Your instincts were right...to me it looks like you have a cockerel on your hands.Sorry.
    But he is a beauty. How old is he? Thats a good size comb and alot of redness on the comb for a young bird. I also see the curly cockerel tail feathers coming in...

    I agree cockerel. Seems spiky hackle feathers are beginning to show also.

    Your now, very friendly chicken will likely not remain that way. Cockerels always seem to be the most inquisitive and confident of chicks.
