My DH recently asked to see Psalm 23 (he only has a New Testament right now), and I brought him my New International Version (NIV) Bible. But as he read, he said "this just isn't doing it for me". Turns out he is a King James version guy. When I first met him, he was a bit of a cool hippie. Who knew he'd turn out to be such a traditionalist?

What's the version of the Bible that speaks to you best?

I really like the new living translation

or the NIV but if you go to an online source you can read the same verse in more than one translation..

i have several different, but i like the NIV for reading, with a concordance.

Miss_Jayne, since you've just skillfully combined two very important topics, which lip balm do you think Jesus would have chosen?

    (not meant to be disrespectful...)

That's a good question and I'm interested in seeing responses.

I'm used to the good old King James version but will often use
bible.com to compare passages, especially when I'm trying to
    figure them out.

    Translation and interpretation are HUGE!

I love the language of the King James and when I get stuck, I hold the open Bible out to my hubby and say "What the heck does THIS mean?????"
