I bought these Amberlink chicks 10 days ago from TSC. They were the same size and age when I got them and I think they are just 2 weeks old now. But one of them is huge.

I suspect it may be a rooster due to the large legs but they were supposed to be all pullets. The Orpintons in the background of the 1st picture are actually 3 weeks old. Can't figure out why this one is a giant...:idunno

I think a Cornish X may have managed to get mixed in that bin of chicks...

I wondered about the Cornish X too. I didn't see any bins of them at the store but It's a possibility I guess.

I've never had Cornish X before. Is there any chance this would make a laying hen if female? I've been putting Broiler Booster in the water to help with leg development. I just don't know much about the breed...

Looks like a cornish x. To me.

At least you only got 1. I got 10 that were supposed to be riw. Mislabeled box from hatchery.

Buy at our own risk from TSC I guess. I've never had Amberlinks either so I wasn't sure what I was getting. Frustrating.. :barnie

Good luck with them! They really look like Cornish X. Maybe someone should write to TSC about their problems
