    Hi everyone!

My name is Liz. Long story short, my husband & I moved out to the country about 2 years ago with the hope of starting a farm to table B & B where you could literally look out the window & say "I ate that guy's brother this morning". The property wasn't lived in for 10 years so the clean up has been a massive undertaking so say the least (still working on it!). We've had quite the adventure learning about our new "neighbors" (bear, deer, coyotes, skunks, possums, hawks, barn cats, & neighbor's dogs with a reputation for killing peoples barn cats & chickens). Thankfully our human neighbors have been a wealth of knowledge & very helpful. We have 76 acres (some wooded, some cleared, 1 hay field) & we want to do a farm akin to the Polyface model.

We have 2 medium sized dogs (apparently wild animals know that city dogs are wusses & have no fear of ours) & 3 cats (indoor only). My grandparents were farmers during the Great Depression & I research stuff like crazy before I attempt to do it. I'm dying to get some livestock on our farm. I thought chickens would be a gentle start (as opposed to jumping in & getting a cow right away). Eventually, we hope to have chickens, ducks, quail, pheasant, guinea hens, geese, turkey, cows, goats, pigs, & maybe a donkey. Not a ton of all of those, just a handful of each so visitors can get a glimpse of farming & hopefully learn a lot while they're with us.

So....I hope you guys are ready for a million questions! Thank you in advance for all of your help!!!
