Clean coop to promote laying?

Hey all,

One of by RIR/Wht Sussex ladies seemed to drop off laying to once every 3 days for about a week.
Now I would clean the coop every week, but recently have only been able to do it every 2 weeks. I started back to cleaning it every week and shes back on form again, laying daily.

Could the lack of cleaning as previous have an effect on her laying.

I don't know the answer to that, but I'd sure like to know when you do find out. I wonder if my coop should be cleaner. I clean it out about every two weeks since my DH wasn't hot on the deep litter method. Maybe I should be cleaning it out more often...

Maybe it was just your prolonged presence, on a once weekly basis that she's missing?

OK, seems either I was right or else BokBok decided to resume proper order.

I think the super clean coop is what she needs to keep it daily.
And today she gave me a double yolker to boot!
