Close to laying?

My girls are 15 weeks old, the ladies pictured all squat for me, does their comb and wattle development look like they are within a few weeks of laying? I apologize for the dim lighting.

15 weeks is still very early for most breeds, most start around 20 weeks or even later for some.

I could be wrong but looks like you’ll still have a ways to wait. Honestly you’ll notice their combs/waddles grow and turn bright right before hand

As mentioned, they are making their way to POL, but their combs will be bright fire engine red, like as bright as a rooster’s.

My youngest pullet was 17 weeks when she laid her first egg. Squatting is a sign of getting ready. And they explore the nesting box alot.

Thank you everyone! They have checked the nestboxes but not a lot. Their color seems to vary throughout the day. I’m amazed at how quickly they have grown and I can’t wait for the first egg to arrive. I am trying to patiently wait and just enjoy their silly teenage phase. I enjoy sitting with them after work and getting chicken snuggles, best stress relief ever.

It’s very exciting. I remember we went out of town for a week and I came back completely shocked/blown away at the transformation their combs/wattles had while we were gone. And then I think it was Within another 1-2 weeks they all started laying

This happens with pullets that age...can drive ya nuts thinking an egg is coming soon.
But I'd say you've got at least a few weeks more to wait.
