Closing off end of a chicken run - looking for ideas

Adding @paintedChix ’s post to this, b/c the roost side of this* is a lot what I’m thinking of:

* “this” meaning the computer-rendered drawings at the bottom of the post, not the YT link

And now that I have almost gotten the obsession with humanlike-chicken-dwelling-with-enclosed-yard-attached paradigm out of my head, I might just apply and expand this layout to my 8x15 run, turning it truly into a crun, or maybe roop: a combined coop+run.

They spend all day in the 85% that they’ve claimed of our little city backyard anyway.

I did this exact thing earlier this year! Basically extended my run and added walls as a wind block and new roost bars so there was an extra place for them to sleep when it got hot. (They never sleep there but it's available.)

Added benefit is that it provided extra deep shade under the poop board that they love.

I actually used cheap fence boards from the hardware store and used a nail gun. Comes in variety of heights and it was super easy. Wind block in the winter and shade in the summer. Lots of ventilation because it's still open.

Love what you did here. Very good East Texas!
