I have a question about chicken sounds. My girls are 6 weeks old and I thought I heard some clucking sounds from them yesterday. So I am wondering do all chickens make the clucking sounds, even the roosters or do the roosters just crow and leave the clucking sounds to the hens?

Mine do that too, I think it means they are happy, my two dark RIR make sounds kinda like a song bird too, they do it when they think they get treats it sound so nice, I'm just waiting til my "rooster" starts to crow [IMG] well I think it's a rooster, got the red comb anyway they are almost 8 weeks old.

My Rooster clucked, but it was a manly cluck.
