Does anyone live in one of these? I would love love love to live in a communal environment and work on the community's farm... in the garden or with the animals. I was reading about a CSA one in NY, but they expect everyone to build a eco-friendly house which costs somewhere between $200k and $400k. I could never afford that! How would a single mom get into a similar community? Do people in these communities work outside of the community and just split up the farm chores? What about chickens? I need to have my chickens.
