I have a pen dedicated only to my cochin bantams. My rooster was a golden laced cochin he had 3 hens with him a blue cochin a buff cochin and a red cochin. Now they hatched some very pretty chicks and im not sure on whose chicks are whose but i got blue and blacks as well as another variety that i have been told is called Columbian :hmm. The same person who told me Columbian also told me that those cochins are not full cochins:he. Now the question is how can a chick that came from two cochins not be a cochin? Also i am posting a picture of one the babies (not so little anymore) to see what you guys think . Any help is appreciated.

Probably because they aren't as round as their parents but they still look pure. You might be able to note which hen lays in the future by how her egg looks- sometimes they are nearly identical and sometimes you can tell which is which by the shape or the color after watching each hen lay an egg, or you can use food coloring to determine which is the mother.
