Cochin roo...What color?

    This lil guy has some cool colors on his neck, but I have no idea what his color would be called [​IMG]

    I also vote blue, but the neck is wrong (neck looks Partridge?). Cochins are great!

    He's a Blue, but his color isn't the best.

    Unless you are going to put some work into breeding that out I either wouldn't breed him or if you sell his eggs/chicks let the person who buys them know about his mismarkings.

    He's got nice feet though.

    A lot of blue chickens these days have "leakage," which is often another gene other than "extended black" interrupting the blue, and creating gold or silver markings on the bird. Breeders must always try and get rid of this.
