Mild blood warning!
Can anyone help me with this? My frizzle cochin Cujo has red and mildly bloody sores on both sides of her face, above the eyes. They’re both in the same area so I think it’s from her constantly scratching her head. She’s broody at the moment, and tends to do the constant scratching thing whenever this is the case. However, I’ve never seen it cause wounds like this. What can I do to stop it?

Also, while I’m here. Do those white spots look like fowl pox? Could that be causing her scratching? She preens all over herself frequently, but I again contributed that to her broodiness. Now it has me a bit worried. Any and all help appreciated

Here also is Cheeseburger, with something on her waddle that caused my concern for pox. She does not have the itch issue however

Rest of the flock appears to be fine. Is it a coincidence that these are the two youngest members at a little over a year old?

i would check around the vent for mites just in case
and i wish i knew how to stop the scratching

I agree, I'd look for mites and lice or even a tick. Make sure to look inside her ears as well.

She's broody, but are you wanting her to sit on fertile eggs and hatch them? If not, then I'd consider breaking the broodiness. If she's sitting on fertile eggs and you're wanting to hatch them, then very carefully inspect where she's brooding for lice, mites, ticks, ants, etc. If there are any, then clean out the nesting area and treat it (and her) with a Permethrin based poultry spray or dust.

For her face, I'd apply triple antibiotic ointment.

Cheeseburger looks to have a scab on her wattle. Looks like it's from injury, maybe a peck or she scratched it somehow.
