I am really wanting to get some cochins and silkies, and lo, my local TSC got their chicks in, these breeds included! I have 16 (soon o be 15) standard chickens. I have a few questions to see if they are right for me - Are the cold/heat tolerant? Will they get along with my large chickens, or do I need to build a bantam coop? I do know they are both broody bums (As I affectionately call broody chickens. [IMG]) Which is fine because I would like to hatch some of my own chicks. How are roosters, for either breed? I am getting rid of my rooster as he is mean to both humans and the hens.
