    Hey guys,

Ugh, I knew trying to get work done with the chooks out and about was going to be a bad idea, but the weather was good today, and I needed to get their ramp weatherproofed. Anyway, I attempted to put them in the coop, but they weren't having it, so I proceeded anyway. Some paint made a tiny little puddle on the ground and my beloved RIR cockerel, Reba, ate some of it. :barnie

After dipping in for the first time he was frantically trying to wipe it off. I'm sure it tasted terrible. I grabbed him and wiped it off his beak and pried his mouth open and wiped it out of the inside of the lower jaw as well.

Is he going to be ok? I love him so much. It wasn't very much, but I still worry. :hit

Also, I know people give animals activated charcoal when they eat something poisonous. Is it powdered, or what form do you buy it in? Could someone link me to it?

    Just one taste of it?

I think he will be ok. That wouldn't be enough to be toxic.

Yeah, he started eating it and then as soon as it hit his tongue he was trying to get it out of his mouth.

Take a deep breath and relax a bit.

I really truly I not think he got enough to kill him or even make him sick. :hugs

Oooooohh, what color was the paint? Might make for some cool poop!!

Hahaha, I promise I am taking this seriously. As seriously as a mom of 2 very small human children can, that is. I do think your hen will be fine, and if it was a kiddo I wouldn't even be that concerned over just that small amount.

We're gonna need some poop pics, though.:pop:gig

Does the can say what to do if swallowed? It doesn't sound like he ate enough to be worried, but if he does start getting weak or anything you most likely can revive him with a sugar water mix. All you need is molasses mixed with water or sugar mixed with water. The molasses mixed with water saved one of my geese once when it ate what I think was a tomato plant.

Poop will probably be pretty boring. It was white paint, so extra urate look if anything.

I know it! I came in and told my family it’s like trying to work with 13 little kids running around. :barnie Except these ones are too fast to catch and put in their room.

Can says to seek medical attention if swallowed...

Ok, thanks for the tip. I have sugar at home.
