My five month old cockerel walks around the run and hops up onto the highest perch. Then he stands up as straight as he can go and flaps his wings at a medium speed. When he's done, he stretches out his neck, no noise at all, doesn't even open his beak. Is this him trying to crow? Thank you.

The hormones are starting to rise. He is beginning to 'feel his oats'.

I would be interested in knowing what breed he is. My five-month old Buff Brahma thinks he's still a baby chick. I don't know how he does it, but he "peeps".
