Chirping
I have a light sussex cockerel called Patrick who lives with 14 other hens and a bantam cockerel and he is arguably the lowest on the pecking order!
The girls are not at all interested in his advances (I think I've only ever seen him mate once) and most mornings when I let them out, he will come out of the coop with a bloody comb (not from the other cockerel as the flock is split into two coops overnight and the coop has been quadruple checked for sharps!).
Does anyone else have a less-than-assertive cockerel?!
