Cockerel not letting the chickens come out of the coop much

    We have a young cockerel, pullet, and 3 younger chicks in our chicken tractor. The cockerel isn't letting the others out of the coop much... he likes to herd them back in after a few minutes. Will this get better? They have only been in the tractor for a couple of days now. He will let them come out if we are outside too.

    Sounds like he is sensing danger and trying to herd them to safety. But he may just want the big outdoors all to himself. LOL.. I think it will get better as time goes on. Good Luck

    My roo tries that too. However I have 14 hens and they just push past him. Just being protective.
