Hello all,
You were so helpful with my Partridge Rock that I thought I would ask about my Amaraucanas! I am a first time owner, and am not good at sexing yet. They are both about 10 weeks, their names are M and V [their letters are on the pics to help tell them apart :)] I have noticed that V has a curved tail, which I have read to be a sign of a cockerel. M has a very pointed tail with little curvature. However, both have a very small comb and no prominent waddles yet. V has always been a bit more aggressive than my others, so I am wondering if they both are pullets or not. Thank you so much!! 20200603_202354.jpg 20200603_202413.jpg 20200603_202452.jpg 20200603_202516.jpg 20200603_202531 (1).jpg 20200603_202542.jpg 20200603_202603.jpg 20200603_202354.jpg 20200603_202413.jpg 20200603_202452.jpg 20200603_202516.jpg 20200603_202531 (1).jpg 20200603_202542.jpg 20200603_202603.jpg 20200603_202620.jpg 20200603_203046.jpg 20200603_203148.jpg 20200603_203238.jpg

Those birds are all Easter Eggers, not Ameraucanas. Hatcheries sell EEs and label them as ameraucanas or “Americanas”. No, if you buy them in a farm store or hatchery they are EEs 99.9% of the time. They are still great birds tho, I have three and they’re the sweetest.

Here is a helpful article about the confusion between them.
Here are some pictures of my trio EEs and the blue-green eggs they all lay.

Yeah, I started suspecting that this morning as I read more posts. I really just wanted fun colored eggs and some new feathered friends. Thank you for confirming they are EEs!!
