First two pictures are an EE that seems to be more aggressive to the other chicks and the boss chick but is very friendly to me. Not sure the age maybe 5 weeks

The last 2 pictures are my barred rock that is 4ish weeks and has a huge comb already and is super sweet. What do y'all think? Pullet or cockerel?

Oh no lol I'm also concerned about my other barred rock being a cockerel as well. She/He's always fighting with the EE . His/her feathers aren't coming in as fast as the others. Any idea if it's a pullet or cockerel?
That's a cockerel. Strong barring for a barred rock (males have more barring that females, females are mostly black). Big red comb for such a young age.

Thanks for your answers . Makes me sad though because those 3 are all my favorite chicks 😿
Unfortunately, that's a common story that I hear - the friendliest, most outgoing chicken turns out to be a roo. I don't know if their young biology just makes them more human compatible or what is going on there. But yea, I've stopped naming my younglings for this reason. When they hit adulthood and I am sure they are staying, they can be named and officially join the flock in my eyes.
