Cockerels or Hens? (Pekin/Cochin and Silkies)

    The pekin (cochin) looks like a male to me. The silkies, however, I can't tell. It does look like you have a buff and a partridge (maybe buff cross to partridge)

    The pekin is a hen, not sure about the silkies as I am not familiar with the breed.

    I still say with that much wattle, that red in the face at 7 weeks, that cochin is a male. Can't tell by sickle/hackle feathers yet....

    The Silkie in the foreground looks like a roo to me. I was reading up on sexing them today because I'm trying to decide what mine are and I read that the roo's afro kind of sweeps backward while the pullet is round and even. Dunno for sure though. [​IMG]
