Cockroaches

just curious can chicks eat them? or will the roaches hurt them?randomness btu just wandering!

I don't think there is any bug that could hurt a chicken, but I could be wrong. I know my chickens will eat anything that gets there attention, including mice.

Chickens can and will eat them, but there is always a chance one has been poisoned.

chicks can eat them, the same as they can eat crickets and other bugs. There is just the risk that the roaches have been exposed to poisons. If you are concerned, just don't use roach spray.

My love to eat the big wood roaches so I don't have to spray to kill them.

yea we have posioners on all the house so i should probably just be safe and don't feed it to them?

My vet says that the cockroaches here in the South Pacific carry worms and that it can be the cause of eye worm. I would not let mine eat cockroaches. I am definitely sure that it is not good for them to eat poisoned cockroaches but I am going to ask about this in the forum. I think mine have been poisoned from doing just that. Have lost 4 so far.
